F. A. Q.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the level of knowledge, experience and expertise you require in order to accept new students?
We do not have prerequisites in order to accept students. We evaluate all the requests equally, work on meeting the student, assessing their current level in relationship with the college/s for which the student is willing to apply, and getting to know the timing, needs and expectations of such student, in order to design a personalized program and pair the student with an academic mentor, a music faculty or both. The only reason for us to place a student on our waiting list would be if we are not able to take new students at the moment.
Is it possible to negotiate the number of sessions initially proposed by the program in case it feels inadequate or unable to afford for the student?
Of course, our aim is to get to serve all students in a way they feel comfortable with. We make a fair assessment to recommend the program we think it is best to ensure higher chances of success for each student, but the student is free to choose to either reduce or increase the number of lessons, either at the beginning of the engagement or throughout it. The only element that needs to be taken into account is that the company asks students to accept our policies and pay for our services beforehand. We will not issue refunds in case the student decides to stop working with us before finishing with the agreed program, unless both the student and the advisor/s agree the student is ready to submit applications or engage in auditions, as well as when the student proves to have already completed such processes, and so, does no longer need our support.
Are you open to accept fractionated payments?
We ask for students to pay for the whole program beforehand, in order to book the agreed lessons, and receive access to a membership portal as an enrolled student. However, in cases of proven economic need, we will consider to offer fractionated payments, with deadlines on when to submit each payment in order to confirm beforehand the next lessons and be able to proceed with the program. However, this is not our usual way to address payments, and students who ask for this options have to understand that the policies regarding refunds also apply to each of them.
What can I do if the tutor/s assigned seem to not be the right fit for me?
Both students and advisors have a two session trial period, in which any part can request to end the lessons together. In that case, the program will evaluate the reasons for the change request, and will always assign other tutor/s to the student to find an effective pairing in the benefit of the student. If there are issues arising later on regarding our tutor/s, we will also study the case, and offer answers so that the student can keep working towards meeting goals. Only in the case the student is misbehaving by not being in compliance with our policies, we reserve the right to terminate the contract with such student immediately, and issue a refund for the prepaid pending lessons, starting from the day of the termination.
What are the reasons why we should decide to work with you instead of with another private tutor, school or service?
We are very knowledgeable, experienced and specialized in the admission processes of Contemporary music college applications in the US. All our academic mentors and music faculty tutors currently work or have recently worked in admissions of such institutions, and are willing to offer their recommendations and expertise in individual sessions tailored to the student goals and needs. on top of that, our will to serve international students that are primarily Spanish-speakers is that all of us come from a Latinx/Hispanic heritage, did not have the chance to find appropriate mentors to guide us in the process to access contemporary music college in the US, and realized there was no formal service focused on the needs of the Spanish-speaking community in such regard. Our wish to give answer to that needs pushed us to create this company, where all of our professionals are proficient in both in Spanish and English languages. Last but not least, we have a history of being contacted individually by students around the world, willing to find such mentorship and advise while preparing for admissions, and, as a result of such work, we have spent significant time developing a unique effective method already tested with students from different backgrounds and levels of expertise, with a 98% effectivity rate up to now.
Can I ask for responsibility of any kind in case the results obtained from admissions and applications are not the ones expected?
While we are interested in knowing about the student experiences and results, and always appreciate to receive feedback in order to keep improving our services, as stated in our policies, working with us does not give you any guarantee of success regarding the results obtained by the student, as we are a consulting and educational company that supports the process of getting ready for admissions, but work independently from any institution, and have no influence in the decisions made by any college admissions' committee. As a result, we are not legally or morally responsible for the results the students obtain, as they are the only ones responsible for their level of musicianship and preparedness, as well as to for the skills displayed in both auditions and interviews. With that said, our wish is to see our students succeed, and so, we will always do our best to enhance their chances for success.
